Willie Snead IV (WR, BAL) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 3% of Leagues

ANALYSISThe Ravens edged Buffalo on Sunday and Willie Snead (along with three other players) led Baltimore with three receptions for just 13 yards but a touchdown in the effort, making him the best receiver (other than a tight end) available for Lamar Jackson on the day. The combination of caught passes, yardage, and the scoring play all added up to 10.3 fantasy points for Snead who was back to the double-digit score after not doing a lot against San Francisco a week ago.

While Snead has not been very productive in the middle of the season (weeks 6 to 11), he had a good start and seemed to recover his old traits against the Rams in Week 12. During the first five games of the year, Snead caught 12 passes (16 targets) for 205 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 8.9 fantasy points per game but breaking the 9-point barrier on three of those games, even reaching 14.1 in Week 4. He went on a little slum after that, but he recovered after Los Angeles in a two-touchdown effort in Week 12 that gave him 15.4 points on the day.

This past Sunday Lamar Jackson targeted Snead four times for the first time since Week 6 and he was able to catch of those four passes against a stout Bills Defense ranked fifth in the nation against WRs. That bodes well for Snead, as the Ravens face the Jets (23rd against WRs) in Week 15 and Marquise Brown has been quite volatile lately, forcing Jackson to look Snead’s way. Although Snead is risky play a little touchdown-dependent to produce fantasy points if you play in a deep league and need to line up someone in a second flex spot he could be your boom/bust play if you feel like needing a terrific performance to win the weekend. Low floor, but 15-point or higher upside if he finds the end zone.
