BALLER MOVE: Add in Two-Catcher Leagues
OWNED IN: 45% Fleaflicker
ANALYSIS: Willson Contreras made his major league debut on Sunday, and crushed a home run on the first pitch he saw. The Cubs’ No. 2 prospect has gone 3-for-8 with one home run and three RBI through three games. Miguel Montero is struggling to the tune of a .197 AVG so far this year, and left Wednesday’s game in the sixth inning with an apparent leg injury. If he were to miss any time — and honestly, even if he doesn’t — Contreras could be ready to jump into a larger role. The 24-year-old backstop has 33 HR, 21 SB and a .294 AVG in 1,248 at-bats over his last four years in the minors. Contreras, the top-ranked catching prospect in baseball, is someone to consider in most formats, especially given how shallow the catcher pool is this year.
