Wilmer Flores (3B, NYM) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in Deeper Leagues, NL-Only Leagues

ANALYSIS: One thing worth noting about Wilmer Flores: he is currently listed at 3B because that is where he played last year. But he will gain position eligibility for SS pretty quick, and maybe gain eligibility at 2B too. Flores has hit .300 or better in the minors each year, from 2012 to his early sample in 2014, making him one of those sleepers to consider off the waiver wire especially as a shortstop/middle infielder. Obviously, David Wright is the third basemen for the Mets. But so far Flores has played three games, one at 2B and two at SS. He can also hit for some power as well, knocking 18 and 16 HR the past two years. At the major league level, I would expect him to hit for a decent average, hopefully in the .280 - .290 range, along with 10-12 HR this season if he continues to see full time ABs going forward. In a standard league, he could certainly be worth owning for a team without a top player at 3B or SS, or as a sneaky MI option once he gets eligibility. In deeper leagues, he can be a positive contributor on most teams, and is worth a flier off the waiver wire.
