Happy Monday morning, or whenever you happen to be reading this. There are eleven games on the docket Monday night and the start times range from 7:05 to 10:10 EST. All of those 11 games are connected to the GPP's so they're the ones that I'll be focusing on as a result. Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 5/1/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.
You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo
The Cleveland Indians are on the road against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI on Monday night. They'll face LHP Daniel Norris and are projected to score 5.25 runs, which is the highest projected run total on the evening. I like all of the right handed and switch-hitting players on the Tribe as a result, so join me and stack 'em up Monday night.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo
Clayton Kershaw vs SF ($60)
Clayton Kershaw has been fantastic this season outside of one sub par outing at Coors Field that wasn't even that bad. In his three home starts Clayton has been off the charts as he's managed to post 35.6, 37.2 and 38.5 FPPG. I expect another 35-40 points as he faces a weak Giants offense at Dodgers Stadium Monday evening.
Jason Vargas vs CHW ($36)
Vargas has been a solid SP option at Yahoo thus far this season as he's notched an impressive 29.1 FPPG while remaining relatively cheap. Even though Vargas has had troubles with the White Sox (he managed just 12.7 fantasy points against them his last time out) he will be facing them at home this time and that makes a world of difference, as Jason hasn't allowed a run at Kaufman Stadium this season. Even if the Pale Hose do manage to put a few runs on him I expect a decent amount of K's for Vargas and his owners in the fake game to fall back on.
DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo
Catcher (C) - Jonathan Lucroy vs HOU ($7)
Although Lucroy has struggled to get it going this season he is an All Star and will return to form and break out of his hitting slump soon. As long as he's healthy I believe in his bat and like him for the low price of seven bucks on Monday night. He has a touch matchup with Lance McCullers, but it comes in a great hitters park, and is too good of a value play to pass up on.
First Base (1B) - Carlos Santana at DET ($18)
As I mentioned above I like the Indians against LHP Daniel Norris and Santana is near the top of the list of my favorite Cleveland players to use Monday evening. In his career against southpaws Carlos has managed an OBP of .380 and a wRC+ of 127. Carlos is a but pricey, but worth paying up for Monday evening.
Second Base (2B) - Jonathan Villar at STL ($16)
Jonathan Villar is projected to score the most points according the MLB Lineup Generator at rotoballer.com despite not being the most expensive option. This makes him a good value play. The fact that he's also facing a RHP on Monday night is a boon to his value as over 72% of his career SB have come against northpaws.
Third Base (3B) - Jose Ramirez - at DET ($20)
Jose Ramirez is a great option on Monday night against lefty Daniel Norris at Comerica Park in Detroit as I noted in the lineup stack to consider. Last season against LHP Ramirez posted a .311/.368/.473 triple slash with a wRC+ of 127. After a red hot April I expect Jose to get off to a similar start in May and that begins Monday evening.
Shortstop (SS) - Carlos Correa vs TEX ($13)
Correa has gotten off to a slow start this season, but it's important to remember that he's just 22 years old. Even though he's supremely talented there will be bumps in the road. At just $13 I can't pass him up on Monday evening against RHP Andrew Cashner at home at Minute Maid Park. This is because Carlos has managed a .201 ISO and a wRC+ of 144 against northpaws at home in his young career.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo
Brandon Guyer at DET ($7)
Brandon Guyer is my favorite value play on the slate Monday evening. In his career he's posted an impressive .833 OPS with a .176 ISO and a wRC+ of 136 against LHP. For the minimum price you can roster a player with a great matchup that should be near the top of the lineup with the highest projected on the evening. I expect Guyer to be a big part of the scoring tonight and suggest you join me and get him into all of your lineups. Don't miss the layups folks.
Jose Bautista at NYY ($8)
Another value play that I like on Monday night is Joey Bats. After a dreadful start to the season it appears that his bat has finally unfrozen as he has logged 9.9 or more FPPG in three of his past four games where he had more than one at bat. In all three of those games he either had multiple hits or multiple walks. Tonight he'll face RHP Luis Severino and that bodes well for Jose as he's managed a .234 ISO and a wRC+ of 130 against RHP over his illustrious career.
