DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo
The New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night. They face off against Mat Latos, who has struggled against right handed batters throughout his long, up and down career in the Majors. Last season, righties hit .321 in 131 at-bats versus Latos, including four home runs and 18 runs batted in. While he has only allowed one home run in two starts this season, Latos has also struggled to keep the ball in the yard in his career, and will take the mound at one of the friendliest hitters parks in the league. 40 home runs have been allowed in the Bronx so far, an average of 3.33 per game; the most in the league.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo
Masahiro Tanaka vs TOR ($41)
Understandably, Yankee Stadium might not be one's favorite place to pitch. But when you pitch as well Masahiro Tanaka did in his last start, on the road, at the hostile Fenway Park, location doesn't seem to matter very much. Coming off a complete game, three-hit shutout, Tanaka faces off against another divisional foe. Over the last three seasons, Tanaka has more wins (6) versus the Toronto Blue Jays than any other team in the league. His 2.34 ERA against Toronto over that span is also impressive, making it difficult to pass up on him at his affordable price.
Alex Wood vs SF ($36)
Alex Wood faces off against one of the worst offensive teams in the league this season. The San Fransisco Giants have scored the second fewest runs and have hit the second fewest home runs. Wood started the season in the bullpen, but pitched extremely well in his last start; only his second of the season. Wood blanked the Giants on April 26, hurling six shutout innings of one-hit ball, striking out five. Expect a similar performance on Tuesday.
DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo
Catcher (C) - Evan Gattis vs TEX ($18)
It's never ideal to stack against someone like Cole Hamels, but Gattis has had little trouble against him in the past. Gattis is batting .304 in 23 at-bats versus Hamels, and has taken him deep three times over that span. Hamels also surrendered 20 of his 24 home runs allowed to righties in 2016. Gattis could very well get the nod over Brian McCann on Tuesday, but both are solid plays for daily fantasy as McCann has also been successful against Hamels in his career.
First Base (1B) - Greg Bird vs TOR ($7)
It has been a rough start to the season for this Baby Bomber, and is in desperate need for a spark to get going. Despite being tough against lefties average-wise, Mat Latos has allowed more home runs to lefties over a three season span.
Second Base (2B) - Jose Altuve vs TEX ($16)
Minute Maid park has provided a large boost for right handed batters (how Gattis has made his money since coming into the league). Combine that with Hamels' proneness to home runs allowed versus righties, and Jose Altuve is a solid play Tuesday night. Altuve has also already taken Hamels deep once in his career, and is batting .333 in 15 at-bats against him.
Third Base (3B) - Jedd Gyorko - vs MIL ($19)
Jedd Gyorko is a great option Tuesday night, and currently owns an impressive 1.040 OPS. Gyorko is also hitting .417 in 12 at-bats versus Wily Peralta in his career, and has posted a very healthy 1.094 OPS against righties this season. Despite Busch Stadium's expansive fair territory and deep fences, Gyorko still went deep 12 times at home last season.
Shortstop (SS) - Christian Arroyo @ LAD ($13)
Christian Arroyo is filling in for the injured Brandon Crawford at shortstop, and is a solid value option for tonight's slate. Despite San Fransisco's struggling offense and unfavorable matchup against Alex Wood, Arroyo has hit lefties well (.333 with a home run and two RBI this season).
DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo
Carlos Beltran vs TEX ($18)
Carlos Beltran has made a living as one of the best switch hitters in the league for close to 20 big league seasons. He'll bat from the right side of the plate on Tuesday, against a pitcher he has gone yard against three times in his career.
Aaron Judge vs TOR ($22)
Aaron Judge is having himself one heck of a start to the 2017 campaign. Between his monstrous home runs at Yankee Stadium, clutch play, and Jeter-like approach to the game, Judge has risen in the daily fantasy world, making us all forget about his proclivity for strikeouts last season. Judge has never faced Latos in his career, but makes for a solid play considering his hot bat and the location of the game.
