BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It may seem odd to suggest adding a hitter who has started the season 2 for 21 at the plate but Yandy Diaz has been walked nine times (which leads the Majors) and struck out just five times in his seven games so far. He's yet to hit a homer and yet to drive in a run but his .367 OBP has helped him score two runs and the Rays are currently fifth in the MLB in runs scored with 41. Diaz is a fixture atop of the Tampa Bay Rays lineup having hit leadoff twice, third four times and batted fifth once. The Rays also have one of the most flexible lineups so seeing Diaz anywhere in the top half is good news for his value.
With some soft pitching to face in the Eastern Divisions going forward, Diaz should start seeing his batting average rise up nearer to his career .268 mark and that will see his RBI numbers climb up too. He's not a stolen base threat but being eligible at both corner infield spots is more valuable than ever with so many games in jeopardy due to Covid-19 outbreaks causing postponements at an increasing rate. A two-position player who hits at the top of the lineup in a good offensive team with decent power and solid contact skills should be owned in all 12-team leagues.
