BALLER MOVE: Add in NL-Only Leagues, Mixed Leagues with Two Catcher Spots
ANALYSIS: After a promising rookie campaign in 2012 in which he belted eight home runs and posted a stellar .394 OBP over 192 at-bats, the once-highly-touted prospect Yasmani Grandal has struggled, not only at the plate, but to stay in baseball, as well. Grandal began the 2013 season by serving a 50-game suspension for violating the league's drug policy. Upon his return, he hit just one home run in 88 at-bats before tearing both his ACL and MCL in early July. This year, he has smacked nine home runs in 224 at-bats, which is a better pace than he has ever hit them before, but he simply cannot seem to find his way to first base. His .305 OBP is inexplicable for a player who enjoyed a .408 OBP over four seasons in the minor leagues. Until he figures out how to consistently get on base, Grandal is only worth an add in NL-Only leagues or deep mixed leagues with two catcher slots.
