BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of Yahoo leagues
ANALYSIS: Yonder Alonso has had a weird season. He's as hot and cold as a hitter could be, but his overall numbers make him worth owning. He's on this list today because he has been heating up recently. Over his past 30 days, he has 17 RBI and four home runs, two of which came in the same game on Saturday.
Any deep league roster needy of a power boost should consider adding him. Alonso's batting average and on-base percentage on the year are extremely average in their own right, so he won't help or hurt there. His most useful tool is his place in the batting order for the Indians. The amount of firepower in the top half of that order is almost unfair with Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez in a daily battle for MVP. As long as Alonso sticks around that four to six spot in the order, he should continue to produce his nearly elite RBI output.
