Analysis: People may forget that last season before being sidelined by injury that Zack Cozart was slugging .459 with nine HR and three SB in just 194 AB. This season Cozart has picked up right where he left off with an impressive slash line of .342/.345/.557 and three HR in 79 2016 AB. Cozart has achieved these phenomenal figures with a low strikeout percentage of just 13.8%, by putting the ball in play 81% of the time, and by hitting a line drive 30% of the time when he puts a ball in play. His high line drive rate and high percentage of balls in play is how he has been able to produce such a good XBH% of 12.5% (especially for a shortstop!). Cozart has dominated both sides of the platoon advantage with a .860 and .892 OPS against LHP and RHP, and has hit well wherever the wind takes him with a .842 and .921 OPS in home/away games. Cozart is hitting well and hitting for power in 2016 just like he did last season. When a power-hitting SS is available in 77% of leagues, Fantasy Baseball Managers should take intense notice.
