I personally have never liked drafting guys who were going to miss approximately half the season. If you're in a deep league and want to stash a pitcher though, Zack Wheeler is a good candidate. The Mets are loaded with pitching so it's easy to overlook Wheeler and be jaded towards his potential. The facts are though that Wheeler can hit 98 on the gun, and if he can get his control issues taken care of he has a load of upside.
The 9.6 K/9 ratio that Wheeler registered over his last 13 starts before going down with injury was very impressive. Tommy John surgery will scare some potential drafters away, so if you have some DL slots he could make a great late-round pick. In keeper leagues he's a no-brainer draft as well just because of his upside. The fact that he would be the number five starter for the Mets is just insane and having such a strong rotation only helps Wheeler. Facing three young fireballers in a row will wear down most offenses.
