3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers were still in the mix with free-agent starting pitchers Michael Pineda and Zack Greinke as of Wednesday morning. The Tigers are looking to add a veteran starter to add their young starting rotation that consists of Casey Mize, Matt Manning, Spencer Turnbull and Tarik Skubal. Greinke, now 38 years old, finished the 2021 season with a 4.16 ERA and 1.17 WHIP while posting a weak 6.3 K/9 in 30 outings (29 starts) over 171 innings for the Houston Astros. Pineda, meanwhile, had 22 appearances (21 starts) over 109 1/3 innings for the Minnesota Twins and went 9-8 with a 3.62 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 88 strikeouts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
