Shogo Akiyama Won't Make Opening Day Roster
3 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Shogo Akiyama has been informed that he won't make the Opening Day roster. The 33-year-old outfielder has the right to refuse his assignment to Triple-A. Akiyama has the right to elect free agency, but it's uncertain if he'd draw much interest in free agency. He hit .224/.320/.274 with no homers, 21 RBI, nine stolen bases and a 74/39 K/BB between two seasons in Cincinnati. It seems unlikely that Akiyama would offer much fantasy value anywhere he lands.
