3 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans center Jonas Valanciunas (ankle) has been deemed questionable to suit up for Thursday's game vs. Portland due to a sore right ankle. Willy Hernangomez stepped into the starting five Tuesday in place of Valanciunas and logged a double-double, while Jaxson Hayes tied for the team lead with 23 points; an absence from Valanciunas would likely thrust the duo back into significant roles. The 29-year-old has been a beacon of consistency for New Orleans this year, snatching double-digit rebounds in 52 of his 72 outings. The Blazers' interior defense has been lax since their new-look frontcourt took over, so Valanciunas could be in line for some sizable DFS appeal if he ultimately receives the green light.--Jesse Borek
