3 years agoCharlotte Hornets small/power forward Gordon Hayward (foot) has been ruled out for Friday's contest vs. Chicago as he continues to battle a sore left foot. Hayward has played all of 17 minutes since Feb. 7, with his absence paving the way for P.J. Washington to remain a staple of the starting five. The Hornets' offense has evolved in Hayward's absence, with Miles Bridges (20.3), LaMelo Ball (20.0), Terry Rozier (19.3), all having surpassed Hayward in terms of PPG average this season. While the veteran could be a savvy DFS asset come the Play-in Tournament or postseason if ultimately cleared, he'll need to display an ability to log 30-plus minutes before he is an option.--Jesse Borek
