3 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers power forward Georges Niang (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Pacers due to left knee tendinopathy. Niang has emerged as a solid contributor off the bench for Philly this season, with his absence likely to affect the team's three-point shooting and spacing, along with wing defense. In the short-term, Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Furkan Korkmaz are candidates to see their minutes slightly elevated. Niang was off to a hot shooting start in April, knocking down multiple triples in each of his first four April appearances. The injury does not usually portend itself to single-game absences, but Niang's next chance to suit up will be the regular-season finale Sunday against Detroit.--Jesse Borek
