Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Maintains Happiness With Organization
3 years agoOklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just wrapped up his third year with the franchise, the last two of which have seen the team combine for 46 regular-season wins. Despite that, Gilgeous-Alexander, the face of the team, remains committed, saying of his relationship with head coach Mark Daigneault and general manager Sam Presti, "Every time we talk, I get a little bit more excited … I'm excited for the future," per Joe Mussatto of The Oklahoman. The 23-year-old is coming off having set a career high in scoring (24.5 PPG) this year despite being setback by injuries once again. But he did attempt 18.8 shots on a nightly basis, an indication that his role as the primary scoring option with OKC is not going to change heading into 2022-23, further elevating his appeal as the Thunder work toward playoff contention again.
