Karl-Anthony Towns Kept In Check During Tuesday’s Victory
3 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns helped get the win in Tuesday's Play-In Tournament over the Clippers, but he was held to just 11 points in the process. LA got Towns in foul trouble early and he was limited to just 24 minutes, but even when he was on the floor, he shot just 3-for-11 overall and committed four turnovers. The Clips had similar success in stymying Towns during the regular season, when he scored a season-low eight points on Nov. 13. Anthony Edwards (30 points) and D'Angelo Russell (29) carried the scoring load without Towns' usual production, as Naz Reid (eight) was also solid off the bench. Fortunately for Towns, the next time he suits up will be Saturday vs. Memphis, whom he averaged 23.3 points and 9.3 boards against during four regular-season outings.
