Casey Mize Diagnosed With Ligament Sprain
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize was diagnosed with a medial collateral ligament sprain of the elbow on Saturday according to manager A.J. Hinch. The right-hander was placed on the 10-day IL on Friday after throwing five innings on Thursday since he had some discomfort in between days. Hinch added he isn't feeling as sore as he was on Friday, but he will seek alternative opinions in the coming days. Mize is 0-1 with four strikeouts and a 5.40 ERA through his first two starts as it appears he will be out for at least the next couple of weeks at a minimum.
