3 years agoToronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes has been named the 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year, finishing ahead of Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Evan Mobley, who was also a favorite to take home the award. Barnes, a fifth-overall pick, averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 boards, and just over a steal during his inaugural season. His shooting numbers weren't the best during the regular season, especially from deep. However, the 20-year-old is as well-rounded as it can get, so if he improves his percentages, he could conceivably make his way into the MVP conversation at some point during his career.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
