3 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Cabrera should be back for the second game of the twin bill against Pirates left-hander Jose Quintana. Austin Meadows is serving as the designated hitter and batting third in Game 1 against Bucs left-hander Dillon Peters, while Robbie Grossman (hand) is back in right field and hitting leadoff. Cabrera, who already reached the milestone of 3,000 career hits this year, is batting .258 (17-for-66) with just one home run, seven RBI and seven runs scored in 19 games this season. Grossman left the game after being hit by a pitch on his right hand on Sunday, but he didn't miss a game with an off day on Monday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
