3 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a flexor sprain. In a corresponding move, the Rangers recalled catcher Sam Huff from Triple-A Round Rock. Garver was out of the lineup the last two games, and now he'll miss at least the next 10 days. The 31-year-old veteran backstop was hitting just .205 with three home runs and eight RBI in his first 89 plate appearances for Texas. While he won't hit for a high average, there is some pop there, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect a repeat of his 31-homer campaign in 2019. With Garver on the shelf for at least the next 10 days, Jonah Heim will serve as the starting backstop, with Huff backing him up.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
