Michael Kopech Takes First Loss Sunday
2 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech has been a revelation to start the season, but he could not avoid a loss on Sunday against the New York Yankees. Kopech allowed three runs on one hit and four walks in six innings while striking out three batters. It was his first quality start, and decision of any kind, this year. With a 1.54 ERA and 0.94 WHIP through seven starts, Kopech clearly deserves better than his 0-1 record. A 33-17 K-BB rate leaves plenty to be desired but Kopech has managed to strand plenty of those free passes on base, and it looks like a major breakout is developing.
