Pels Hesitant To Offer Zion Williamson Fully Guaranteed Deal
2 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (foot) was recently cleared to work out without any restrictions. The 21-year-old missed all of last season while attempting to work his way back from a fractured metatarsal bone in his foot. However, despite the positive news regarding Williamson's potential return to the court, ownership is reportedly hesitant to offer him a long-term, fully guaranteed extension. While the 2019 No. 1 overall pick has proven to be a dominant force, his inability to remain healthy has been detrimental for the fantasy managers that drafted him over the last few years. But with career averages of 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists, selecting Williamson may be a risk some are comfortable taking ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
