3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks catcher Daulton Varsho is absent from the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Mike Minor and the Cincinnati Reds. Jose Herrera will be serving as the team's catcher for the game while outfielder Cooper Hummel will be in Varsho's usual leadoff spot. Varsho has been ice cold at the plate over the last few weeks. He's tallied just three hits over his last 28 at-bats dating back to May 27. The 25-year-old is slashing .243/.316/.427 with eight home runs, three stolen bases, 24 RBI and 27 runs over 53 games on the year. He remains a must-start catcher in all formats despite this recent slump.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
