Jerick McKinnon A Low-End RB2 In Week 7

San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon has flourished in the two games that Raheem Mostert (knee) has missed this year and that trend should continue with Mostert sidelined in Week 7. McKinnon was the team's starting running back in Week 3 and Week 4 and saw 38 touches over the two games, which led to over 150 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. McKinnon wasn't much of a factor in the team's past two games and there's some concern about rookie JaMycal Hasty taking some opportunities away from McKinnon. However, McKinnon out-snapped Hasty 23 to 15 in Week 6 and is still the team's primary backup to Mostert for now, putting him in line to see the bulk of the opportunities in a tough Week 7 matchup against the New England Patriots. Start him as a low-end RB2.

Jimmy Garoppolo A Risky Week 7 Start

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had his best fantasy game of the year so far in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. He threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns without any turnovers. This week, Garoppolo faces a tough New England Patriots Defense allowing just 22 points and 219.8 passing yards per game. Garoppolo will have most of his primary weapons healthy for the game, apart from the team's No. 1 back Raheem Mostert (knee). As a QB2 option, you could do worse, but a defensive battle might be in store, which would of course really limit Garoppolo's ceiling. Start him as a QB2 if you don't have any better options, but don't expect a repeat of his Week 6 showing.

Raheem Mostert Remains Out Of Practice

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) has sat out practice all week after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 6. Early this week, the speculation was that Mostert would be placed on Injured Reserve. While that has yet to happen, it's still something we could see before the team's game this week. Regardless, he won't be suiting up in Week 7 against the New England Patriots and will likely miss at least one or two more games after that. Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty are likely to lead the backfield for the 49ers in Week 7.

Cardinals Defense Forces Four Turnovers In Week 6

The Cardinals Defense had their best outing of the year so far in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. They held the Cowboys to just 10 points in the game and came up with two Andy Dalton interceptions as well as two fumble recoveries, both as a result of Ezekiel Elliott fumbles. The Cardinals also sacked Dalton three times in the game. While it was certainly an encouraging outing from the Cardinals Defense, don't expect a similar result in Week 7 when they face the Seattle Seahawks, who have topped 30 points in four of their five games this year.

Andy Isabella Goes Without A Catch In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Andy Isabella has dropped off significantly after his two-touchdown performance in Week 3. This week, in the team's 38-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys, he was held without a catch and received just two targets. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray struggled in the game, completing just nine of his 24 passes for 188 yards. Christian Kirk, meanwhile, reeled in the team's only two receiving touchdowns in the game and has continued to be Murray's preferred target over Isabella. There's no need to hold on to Isabella in any fantasy leagues as long as the Cardinals are fully healthy at receiver.

Larry Fitzgerald Catches Three Passes For 22 Yards

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald wasn't heavily utilized in the team's 38-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. Fitzgerald was targeted four times in the game and came down with three catches for 22 yards. It's been an extremely slow start to the year for Fitzgerald, who is yet to top 50 receiving yards in a game and also yet to score a touchdown this year. Kyler Murray had a rough day throwing the ball in this game, completing just nine of his 24 passes for 188 yards. Fitzgerald shouldn't be trusted as a starting option for now and can be left on waivers in most leagues at this point.

DeAndre Hopkins Has Just Two Catches In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had a 60-yard reception in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. It was his longest gain of the season. However, he wasn't able to do much else in the game. He was targeted eight times on Monday night and came down with just two catches for 73 yards. It was a rough game from a passing standpoint for the Cardinals as quarterback Kyler Murray completed just nine of his 24 passes for 188 yards. Christian Kirk had the team's only two touchdown receptions in the game. It was the first game this year in which Hopkins was held under six receptions. Look for him to bounce back strong when the team faces the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.

Christian Kirk Scores Two Touchdowns In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk had only two catches in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys, but luckily they were both big ones. Kirk had a six-yard touchdown reception and an 80-yard touchdown reception, leading to his final stat line of two catches for 86 yards on three targets. The Cardinals dominated the Cowboys, winning 38-10, but their passing game struggled a bit, regardless. Kyler Murray only completed nine passes all game and totaled just 188 yards. That's three-straight solid fantasy outings now for Kirk, who should be considered a decent WR3 or flex option in most formats going forward.

Chase Edmonds Has A Quiet Game In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds wasn't able to contribute much to the team's 38-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. Edmonds had five carries for 23 yards in the game and caught one of his two targets for six yards. The Cardinals dominated the last three quarters of the game and leaned heavily on No. 1 running back Kenyan Drake to seal the victory, giving him a total of 20 carries in the game. Even though Drake has struggled out of the gate this year, the team is still sticking with him as their primary ball-carrier with Edmonds as a pass-catching option and change-of-pace rusher. Edmonds is still worth owning in most leagues and could see an uptick in usage when the Cardinals attempt to keep pace with the high-scoring Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.

Kenyan Drake Runs All Over Cowboys In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals running back Kenyan Drake had a much-needed breakout game in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys. Drake rushed the ball 20 times for 164 yards and two touchdowns. It was his first game with over 100 yards from scrimmage this year as well as his first time averaging over five yards per carry in a game. Drake had his stat line bolstered significantly by a 69-yard touchdown run with under two minutes left when the game was already decided, but it was a true breakout game for Drake regardless. He's been a frustrating slow-starter for fantasy owners this year, but hopefully his Week 6 breakout will be a sign of things to come.

Kyler Murray Goes For Three Touchdowns In Week 6

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray had a rough overall game despite the team's 38-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. Luckily, it still turned out to be a decent fantasy day. Murray completed just nine of his 24 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 74 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. It was his first game of the year without a turnover, which is certainly encouraging, but he's now been held under 200 passing yards in two of his past three games. With 370 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns on the year, he's definitely doing enough to remain a no doubt QB1 in all formats, but it's been a shakier start to the season than fantasy owners were hoping to see from the second-year pro.

Preston Williams (WR, MIA) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues

ROSTERED: 25% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins wide receiver Preston Williams has established himself as the clear No. 2 receiver on the team behind DeVante Parker. The second-year pro has now caught touchdowns in three of his past four games. His biggest game along that stretch was in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers, when he caught four of his five targets for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Williams is 6'5" and oftentimes looks more like a tight end than a receiver on the field. He scored 14 touchdowns in his final year of college football at Colorado State in 2018 and appears to be transitioning into a dangerous end zone threat in the NFL as well.

Fueled by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins offense is really clicking right now. Parker figures to remain the top target for Fitzgerald going forward, but as long as the offense keeps rolling, there should be multiple pass-catchers who provide solid fantasy value.

Williams should be added in all PPR leagues of 14 teams or deeper. He's also worth considering in non-PPR leagues and in more shallow leagues. Be aware that the Dolphins have a bye week in Week 7 and then a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8, so if you need immediate help, you may want to look elsewhere, but if your primary concern is long-term help, Williams is a fantastic option.

James Washington (WR, PIT) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 10% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington had his best outing of the season in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. He caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown in the game. He led the Steelers with seven targets, while no one else on the team had more than four.

Steelers rookie receiver Chase Claypool has clearly been the breakout player on the offense this year. He has five touchdowns over the past two weeks, but Washington has clearly established himself as a key contributor to the offense as well.Washington's 26 targets on the year are tied with Claypool for second on the team behind JuJu Smith-Schuster.

One additional player who needs to be monitored is Diontae Johnson (back),  who hasn't played a full game since Week 2, when he had a team-high 13 targets. He could return as soon as Week 7 and could quickly through a wrench into the receiver pecking order. It's likely that all four of the receivers mentioned thus far will all play a part in the passing attack, it'll just be a question of how the target share is split.

Washington is worth adding in leagues of 12 teams or deeper. In Week 7, the Steelers face the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed 30 or more points in three of their past four games. Washington could be a great bye week fill-in next week as a WR3 or flex option, especially if Johnson remains out.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR, GB) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 30% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has all the stars aligned for a productive fantasy stretch ahead. He's the clear No. 2 receiver on the team behind Davante Adams while Allen Lazard (core muscle) is sidelined. Lazard had core muscle surgery a few weeks back and should remain out for at least a few more weeks, if not longer.

Despite a rough game in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is off to a phenomenal start to the year with a quarterback rating of 109.7. He's thrown 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions through five games. While Adams will of course be the main benefactor of Rodgers's strong play, there will be other pass-catchers on the team who benefit from an MVP caliber Rodgers season, and Valdes-Scantling is the most likely candidate for now.

Valdes-Scantling has earned four or more targets in each game so far this year and he is tied with Adams for the team-lead in targets over the year with 30. Valdes-Scantling hasn't been very efficient with his targets, catching just 50% of them, but he's averaging a sturdy 16.1 yards per reception.

The Packers will need to continue relying on Valdes-Scantling going forward as they simply don't have any other options. He should be added in all leagues of 14 teams or deeper and is a viable WR3 or flex starting option going forward, especially in a favorable Week 7 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Russell Gage (WR, ATL) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues

ROSTERED: 27% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: And just like that, we're ready to buy back into the Atlanta Falcons offense, right? Following two straight disastrous outings and the firing of head coach Dan Quinn, the Falcons offense came alive in a big way in Week 6, dropping 40 points on the Minnesota Vikings.

Falcons receiver Russell Gage caught all four of his targets for 65 yards in Week 6. He was second on the team in receiving yards behind Julio Jones, who had 137. Gage is the clear No. 3 receiver on the Falcons behind Jones and Calvin Ridley. He won't be breaking as many big plays as his two star teammates, but he should regularly see around five or more targets per game while this offense is clicking, giving him some appeal in PPR leagues.

The Falcons have gotten solid production from Todd Gurley II so far this year, but the team has been a pass-first offense for essentially the entirety of the Matt Ryan era, and that's unlikely to suddenly change this season. Ryan has been right around 40 passing attempts each game this year, except for Week 1, when he threw 54 passes. Expect the team to continue airing it out, giving Gage the potential to be a steady PPR contributor. He's worth adding in all leagues of 14 teams or deeper. He should have a solid game in Week 7 when the Falcons have a favorable matchup against the Detroit Lions.

49ers Defense Holds Rams To 16 Points

The 49ers Defense performed well in a tough spot on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. They managed to hold Jared Goff and company to just 311 total yards and 16 points in the game. They unfortunately didn't record any sacks and they only forced one turnover, a Goff interception. Still, a week after surrendering 43 points to the Miami Dolphins, this week's outing was a big step forward. They'll look to stay hot in Week 7 when they face the New England Patriots.

Brandon Aiyuk Scores A Touchdown In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk scored his third touchdown of the year in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. It wasn't an extremely active day for Aiyuk, who only had three targets in the game. He finished with just two catches for 12 yards, but the touchdown certainly boosted his fantasy day substantially. The 49ers had a fantastic day through the air, but George Kittle and Deebo Samuel led the passing attack, with 175 receiving yards combined. Aiyuk will likely be inconsistent and unreliable for fantasy purposes while both Kittle and Samuel are healthy.

Deebo Samuel Scores His First Touchdown Of 2020

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel had an extremely efficient game in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. Samuel caught all six of his targets for 66 yards and a touchdown. He was second on the team in targets, receptions and receiving yards, trailing tight end George Kittle in all three stats. No other 49er had more than three targets in the game. This was the game we've been waiting to see from Samuel, who should be the team's No. 1 wide receiver going forward. He figures to be a solid WR3 in most formats as long as he can stay healthy.

George Kittle Tops 100 Yards In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle caught seven of his team-high 10 targets for 109 yards and a touchdown in the team's Sunday night win over the Los Angeles Rams. It was an extremely encouraging performance for Kittle and the 49ers passing game as a whole, facing a tough pass defense a week after they struggled significantly against the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had a strong game, completing 23 of 33 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. A solid showing from Garoppolo is an extremely good sign for Kittle going forward.

Jerick McKinnon Gains Just 28 Yards In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon wasn't able to get much going in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams. McKinnon carried the ball six times for 18 yards and caught two of his three targets for 10 yards. Raheem Mostert (ankle) was the team's primary ball-carrier for the bulk of the game, but after he left with an ankle injury, the team heavily featured rookie running back JaMycal Hasty, who finished the day with nine carries for 37 yards. If Mostert misses next week's game, McKinnon will be a must-start, just like he was while Mostert missed Week 3 and Week 4.

JaMycal Hasty Sees Nine Carries In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back JaMycal Hasty saw the biggest workload of his young NFL career on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. Hasty carried the ball nine times for 37 yards in the game, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Most of his carries came after an injury to Raheem Mostert (ankle), who led the team with 17 carries for 65 yards in the game. Jerick McKinnon was also involved, but only earned six carries. Jeff Wilson Jr. (calf) was inactive for the game, which allowed Hasty to move up the depth chart and the team has also been without Tevin Coleman (knee) since Week 2. It's a crowded backfield, but if Hasty is one of the last men standing, he could have some fantasy appeal going forward.

Raheem Mostert Rushes For 65 Yards, Injures Ankle

San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert (ankle) had a decent game on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams before leaving with an ankle injury. Mostert rushed the ball 17 times for 65 yards and caught both of his targets for 11 yards. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time. Mostert just returned to the field last week from a knee injury that cost him two games. Rookie running back JaMycal Hasty saw nine carries on Sunday night, while Jerick McKinnon earned six carries and three targets in the passing game. Both players could be potential starting options next week if Mostert is unavailable.

Jimmy Garoppolo Throws Three Touchdown Passes In Week 6

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had a fantastic game on Sunday night against the Los Angeles Rams. Garoppolo completed 23 of 33 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. He didn't have a single turnover and wasn't sacked once in the game. The Rams have had one of the league's best pass defenses this year, so it was extremely inspiring to see Garoppolo deliver such a strong performance. It was a huge bounce-back from his rough outing last week against the Miami Dolphins. Garoppolo should be back into QB2 consideration going forward, though his next matchup is another tough one against the New England Patriots.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was benched late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns were trailing 31-7 at the time Mayfield was benched. After the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that Mayfield is the team's starter going forward. Stefanski made the decision to bench Mayfield in order to protect Mayfield from further injuring his ribs. Mayfield was dealing with a rib injury prior to the game and received multiple hard hits in the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers second-year linebacker Devin Bush (knee) suffered a knee injury in the team's 38-7 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. He is slated to get an MRI tonight. The 5-0 Steelers have a strong defensive unit, but losing Bush for a significant amount of time would be tough.
