Scott Barlow Notches His Seventh Save On Wednesday
3 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Scott Barlow closed out the team's 3-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday to earn his seventh save of the year. He pitched the final 1 2/3 innings of the game and retired each of the five batters he faced while recording two strikeouts. The 29-year-old has had a strong year out of the pen, converting 7-of-8 save chances while pitching to a 1.63 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. He's the team's clear closer at this moment. Unfortunately, the 21-41 Royals haven't been frequently providing save opportunities for him.
