Freddie Freeman Slashing .226/.281/.321 In June
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman has been mostly quiet at the plate so far in June. Over 13 games this month, he's slashing .226/.281/.321 with one home run, five RBI and four runs scored. The 32-year-old was hitting .303/.395/.479 at the end of May, but his recent struggles have lowered his season-long slash line to .286/.372/.444. Freeman's average exit velocity in June has plummeted to 86.4 mph, down from 92.7 mph in May. Meanwhile his whiff rate has increased drastically from 14.5% in May to 24.4% in June. The veteran's track record suggests this is nothing more than a bit of a slump that should come to an end soon. His Statcast page remains about as red as it can get and he's also added a surprising six stolen bases this year, which has him on pace to easily set a career-high in the stat.
