3 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk (hand) was removed from Friday night's game against the Milwaukee Brewers due to a left hand contusion. The injury occurred in the seventh inning of the game after his glove hand was hit by a backswing from Brewers outfielder Jonathan Davis. Kirk underwent X-rays on his hand after the game and the X-rays came back negative. The team stated that his removal from the game and the X-rays were both precautionary, suggesting that there isn't much long-term concern about the injury. He should be considered day-to-day for now. Kirk had a fantastic game before his removal, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs. He has now homered in three consecutive games.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
