3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) was held out of the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the New York Yankees due to hand soreness. However, he wound up entering the game as a pinch-hitter and drew an intentional walk. It doesn't seem as if the injury is anything significant for the 24-year-old slugger. The Astros have an off day on Monday before beginning a two-game set against the New York Mets on Tuesday. Based on the fact that he was utilized off the bench on Sunday, we'd expect for him to be good to go on Tuesday, but make sure to keep an eye out for the lineup card. Alvarez has been one of the league's most dominant hitters this year, slashing .312/.404/.649 with 22 homers, 54 RBI and 47 runs over 65 games.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
