Kyrie Irving Exercises Player Option
2 years agoBrooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving exercised his $36.9 million player option on Monday. Irving has all the talent in the world, averaging 23.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 39.3% from deep throughout his career. Yet, the multi-time All-Star has been involved in constant on and off-the-court drama over the years, including his refusal to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, which kept him off the floor for most of the 2021-22 season. He's also had issues staying healthy, failing to play an entire year since entering the league in 2011. Nonetheless, Irving's future in Brooklyn remains up in the air. However, no matter what uniform he is wearing moving ahead, he could easily be in the MVP conversation, assuming he stays out of trouble while avoiding injuries at all costs.
