Gleyber Torres Returns, Anthony Rizzo Out Wednesday
2 years agoNew York Yankees middle infielder Gleyber Torres (ankle, wrist) is back at second base and is hitting fifth on Wednesday against Oakland Athletics left-hander Cole Irvin, while first baseman Anthony Rizzo will take the day off against the southpaw. Torres exited Sunday's game late against the Houston Astros with a mild ankle sprain, and he also took a few days off due to a sore wrist that he's been battling for a few weeks. The 25-year-old is only hitting .250, but his power stroke is back and he's sitting on 13 home runs and 32 RBI in 228 at-bats. Get him back into your lineups. Rizzo left the game early on Monday when he was hit by a pitch, but he returned on Tuesday and went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. DJ LeMahieu is starting at first and hitting leadoff on Wednesday against Irvin.
