2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Tommy Edman is getting the day off on Wednesday as the team takes on right-hander Sandy Alcantara and the Miami Marlins. Edmundo Sosa will be covering shortstop for the game while Brendan Donovan will be hitting out of Edman's usual leadoff spot. Edman is currently on pace to have his best all-around season in the majors by a distant margin. Over 75 games, he's slashing .272/.342/.403 with seven home runs, 19 stolen bases, 32 RBI and 58 runs.
