Adrian Houser Placed On 15-Day Injured List
2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher Adrian Houser (elbow) on the 15-day injured list on Friday. He is dealing with a right flexor strain. The injury caused him to exit his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. After the roster move was made, Brewers manager Craig Counsell stated, "There's nothing structural or seriously wrong. It's an IL placement, and that's going to be necessary. But we're hopeful he'll be throwing within a couple weeks." The 29-year-old has gone 4-8 with a 4.72 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP across 15 starts this year. The team hasn't announced who will take Houser's rotation spot yet, but Jason Alexander seems like the most likely candidate. Right-hander Trevor Kelley was called up from Triple-A to fill Houser's rotation spot and he'll pitch out of the bullpen.
