2 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Justin Dunn (shoulder) had a strong outing at Triple-A on Friday. He pitched three scoreless innings, retiring each of the nine batters he faced while recording four strikeouts. The 26-year-old has been on the shelf all season due to right shoulder inflammation. He still needs to work up his pitch count, but he appears to be on the right track towards making his 2022 debut. Last year, over 11 starts with the Seattle Mariners, he went 1-3 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.31 WHIP while averaging 8.8 K/9. There's a good chance he'll be part of the Reds' starting rotation once he's ready, but whose spot he takes in the rotation is unclear at this point. It may depend on who is trending in the wrong direction at the time of his activation.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
