Isaiah Stewart Delivers Efficient Summer League Performance
2 years agoDetroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been precisely that over his first two NBA seasons -- a center. But the 21-year-old largely took on a new role Thursday, getting reps at the power forward spot and finishing with 13 points and nine boards across 27 minutes. Maybe most impressive, the big man went 3-for-4 from long range, matching his regular season career high. Stewart started alongside rookie Jalen Duren, who figures to factor into Detroit's frontcourt plans to begin the year; add in the addition of Nerlens Noel and presence of Kelly Olynyk, and playing solely the five may not be in the cards for Stewart much longer. Ultimately, Stewart will continue to hold nightly double-double potential, although fantasy managers will want to keep a close watch on his minutes early in the year.
