Mitch Garver Will Undergo Season-Ending Surgery On Monday
2 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Mitch Garver (forearm) will undergo season-ending surgery to repair his injured flexor tendon Monday but will be available for the team's current series against the Minnesota Twins. He will require a season-ending procedure after dealing with a flexor issue over the last few months. The 31-year-old is slashing .212/.292/.419 with 10 home runs, 22 RBI, 22 runs, and a stolen base across 202 plate appearances in 2022. Jonah Heim will be the Rangers' primary starting catcher while Garver is sidelined. Brad Miller could also see extra at-bats as the team's designated hitter. Heim should be rostered in most league formats after hitting 12 home runs over 61 games in 2022.
