2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is getting the day off on Sunday as the team takes on right-hander Nick Nelson and the Philadelphia Phillies. Albert Pujols will be covering first base for the game. Goldschmidt was officially voted in as the starting first baseman for the National League in the All-Star Game this weekend. The honor was certainly well-deserved as Goldy has been simply fantastic this season. He's second in the majors in both batting average (.340) and OPS (1.032) and he's compiled 19 homers and 65 RBI over 83 games.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
