2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (elbow) has chosen not to play in this year's All-Star game. Instead, he is going to use the break to rest his sore right elbow. Springer made this announcement on Thursday, stating "Our team comes first." The 32-year-old first injured his elbow back on June 21. He missed three games with the injury, but didn't land on the injured list. He's been playing through the ailment ever since and he's been struggling at the plate all the while. He's slashed just .178/.260/.378 in July. Hopefully, he can use the extra rest next week to help get himself back on track for the second half of the year.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
