2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw came within six outs of a perfect game in his start against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. After throwing seven perfect innings, Angels infielder Luis Rengifo doubled to lead off the eighth inning. Kershaw still wound up with a fantastic line on the day. He pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out six. He is now 7-2 on the year with a 2.13 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. The 34-year-old has limited batters to a 33.7% hard-hit rate this year, down from 37.3% last year. Meanwhile, he's maintained a 4.4% walk rate (95th percentile) to go along with a 27.3% strikeout rate (77th percentile).--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
