2 years agoOakland Athletics right-hander Frankie Montas (shoulder) responded "really well" to his bullpen session on Saturday, according to A's manager Mark Kotsay. Kotsay stated that it remains a possibility that Montas could make his return to the mound during the team's doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. The doubleheader falls on Thursday, July 21, the team's first day back out of the All-Star break. Montas is dealing with right shoulder inflammation. He hasn't pitched since July 3, when the injury first flared up, but he's managed to avoid the injured list while the team has closely examined him.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
