2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners have released right-handed pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon from his minor league contract. He is now a free agent. The 30-year-old signed with the team this past April and he struggled immensely during his time in the high minors. Pitching at Triple-A, he had a 7.95 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP across 16 starts. Ponce de Leon spent his first four MLB seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals before the team released him in 2021. Over 57 games (22 starts) with St. Louis, he had a 4.33 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP while averaging 9.3 K/9.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
