J.D. Martinez To Miss His Third Straight Game Sunday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back) will be held out of action once again on Sunday as the team closes out its three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Alex Verdugo will be slotting in at designated hitter for the game while Franchy Cordero and Jackie Bradley Jr. will be the team's corner outfielders. Martinez is currently dealing with back spasms. The issue caused him to be scratched from the starting lineup for Friday's game and he was held out on Saturday as well. His next chance to play will be on Monday against the Cleveland Guardians.
