Miguel Cabrera Plans To Retire After 2023 Season
2 years agoDetroit Tigers first baseman/designated hitter Miguel Cabrera said that he has no intention of retiring after this year. His plan is to finish out his contract and retire after the 2023 season. Cabrera's numbers at the plate are certainly in decline in his age-39 season this year, as he's hitting .268/.317/.332 with a .650 OPS, only four home runs, 36 RBI, 23 runs scored and one stolen base in 356 plate appearances over 91 games. The 12-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer isn't much of an option in fantasy at this point of his career, and he'll attempt to make it through one more season in 2023 before ending his amazing career. Miggy is currently battling some knee pain and will play every other game for the next week.
