2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Steven Matz (knee) has a chance of returning to the mound this season. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol is optimistic that Matz will return after tearing his MCL earlier this season. It sounds like the southpaw is making solid progress since his injury back on July 24. He was pitching fairly well before the injury, so his return would be nice for the Cardinals rotation. However, Matz isn't close to getting back on the mound, so his return probably wouldn't be until mid-September.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
