Montrezl Harrell Agrees To Deal With 76ers
2 years agoFree-agent center Montrezl Harrell agreed to a two-year, $5.2 million contract with the 76ers on Tuesday. The 2019-20 NBA Sixth Man of the Year split time between Washington and Charlotte last season, finishing with averages of 13.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 71 games. However, he was arrested in June and charged with a felony after he was reportedly found with over three pounds of marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Fortunately for him, the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor, with it being dismissed altogether if he stays out of legal trouble over a 12-month span. Nevertheless, Harrell's primary role will be to support Joel Embiid throughout the season. With that said, he may gain more than enough minutes off the bench to keep him relevant on the fantasy end. He also has the potential for some starts here and there if Embiid misses time.
