BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team / 2 QB Leagues
OWNED IN: 2% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: Yeah, so you're probably not going to want to be scrambling quickly to the waiver wire for a guy like Brandon Weeden. If you are in a deeper league that plays two quarterbacks and lost a guy like Tony Romo or Jay Cutler, or facing the potential loss of Drew Brees or Matthew Stafford, you need a warm body at QB, and you will want to know what you're getting into with Weeden. According to Cowboys' GM Jerry Jones, you won't see a more gifted passer than Weeden, so that's all you need, yes?
Okay but seriously, Weeden looked good in relief of the injured Tony Romo, showing a glimmer of hope for owners and Cowboys fans everywhere. The next few weeks he gets to face Atlanta at home, and then goes to the Superdome to face the deplorable Saints defense. Week 5 is a home game against the Patriots, where he'll probably struggle, and then Week 6 is Dallas' bye. Plan accordingly, but Weeks 3 and 4 might float you along. Outside of everything else, Weeden will be leading a Cowboys squad that is without Dez Bryant, and may now be without Jason Witten (he is dealing with two sprained knees). With barely any weapons in the passing game to speak of, expect the Cowboys to lean heavily on their offensive line and run the ball, while hoping that clock control and Rod Marinelli's defensive mind can be enough to keep Dallas competitive until they get Romo and Bryant back. I'm not expecting a lot out of Weeden, but as far as matchups go, the next two weeks should be serviceable out of him for those in dire straits.
