ANALYSIS: McFadden’s ownership has jumped from 35% to 56% since last week, but if any of you 44% are in PPR leagues, you need to get McFadden on your team. All of Lance Dunbar’s passing down work is now McFadden’s to produce with. There has been so much turmoil and hubbub surrounding Joseph Randle being seriously challenged for the number one spot on the depth chart at running back by Christine Michael, that people are forgetting how much the Cowboys like to use the running back in the passing game.

In Week 5 alone, Darren McFadden caught nine passes on ten targets for 62 yards. While it might be easy to point at the matchup (it was against the Patriots) and say that the gameflow and its respective results aren’t something that should be counted on, the next several matchups might have a lot of work for McFadden as well. The Cowboys will now face the Giants, Seahawks, and Eagles. While the Giants did just get shown up by the Eagles’ rushing attack, for the most part they have been a very solid unit against the run. These three teams are not good matchups to attack head on, even with an elite offensive line. With Randle and Michael both jockeying for the lead back spot, look for McFadden to be a consistent, albeit unheralded, force in the passing game.
