ANALYSIS: Most owners are going to be flocking to Kamar Aiken since he is the de facto #1 receiver for the Ravens nowadays. While Aiken is definitely worth your, don't let Chris Givens just fall through the cracks if you're speculating or in deeper leagues. Unfortunately Givens scored a touchdown and is on the radar now. Givens came over from the Rams and ended Week 8's game with three receptions for 57 yards. On Sunday he caught four of seven targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. He's more of a stretch the field type of guy, but there is no doubting that the door is open for any wide receiver for the Ravens to earn their way into more playing time. While Week 8’s game showed more of that “field stretcher” role, Week 10 saw a more well-rounded effort out of Givens. This may point to what the Ravens need from him. Instead of strictly being the stretch guy, he has to step up and be responsible for more of those intermediate routes as well. He must have showed that he was deserving as he bumped Marlon Brown for overall #2 duties for the Ravens.
A forgotten name, he could turn into a good option for a strong armed Joe Flacco to hit in games where the Ravens are engaged in a close one or trailing (which should be most games from what we've seen). Givens is available in many leagues and should not be viewed as an afterthought. Honestly, a lot of owners might still think he’s buried on the Rams depth chart. You’re smart though, snag Givens for deep league relief.
