BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 41% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: No one should have been expecting anything out of him against the Panthers, and hopefully he sees a dip in ownership thanks to the goose egg he posted this past weekend. He still isn't going to be consistent, but he is going to get the opportunity to play now. Justin Hunter just fractured his ankle and is out for the rest of the season, so his playing time is all but guaranteed at this point. The Titans won't face the Panthers again, and DGB should get a chance to show what he's got down the stretch here.
Kendall Wright will return shortly, but there were rumors of the Titans re-signing Hakeem Nicks going around before the Giants snagged him today. This doesn’t point to great news for the Titans’ receiving corps. When Wright comes back, one has to wonder how DGB will fit in alongside Wright and Harry Douglas. The Titans schedule has the Jaguars, Raiders, Jaguars again, Jets, Patriots, Texans, and Colts on tap for the rest of the season.
Outside of potentially seeing Darrelle Revis and Vontae Davis in Weeks 14 and 17, there is nothing daunting here. Head Coach Mike Mularkey’s comments about Dorial Green-Beckham and getting him involved will be put to the test. Against the Panthers DGB was in on 63% of snaps, behind Hunter (72%) and Douglas (80%). In Week 9 against the Saints DGB got 68% of the snaps, behind Douglas (83%) but ahead of Hunter (56%).
This doesn’t paint the prettiest picture for DGB being ahead of Douglas when Wright comes back, but if he hovers around 60-70% of the snaps he can still be valuable. Proceed appropriately.
