ANALYSIS: Brandon Bolden is part of the New England backfield that really doesn’t have much of an identity right now. The Patriots are leaning hard on the arm of Tom Brady in the wake of the multitude of injuries that New England has sustained. LeGarrette Blount is pretty much just a hammer that comes in when the situation calls for it, but he hasn’t done anything special lately. Heck, Rob Gronkowski’s injury came very late in the game where conventional wisdom would have had the Patriots running the ball and grinding the clock down.
Now when it comes to the pass catching backs, James White and Brandon Bolden are going to be hard pressed to provide any consistent value. Most of Bolden's value came from a long scamper on a wheel route that just was horribly covered. The safety took a bad route and missed cutting off Bolden from the end zone. He and James White will probably still sort of mitigate each other's usage enough to make value difficult to come by, but if Rob Gronkowski misses time they could be leaned on more as they become strapped for weapons to deploy. Danny Amendola should be back this week though, do note that. The big play is going to be necessary for Bolden to be worth starting most weeks, so he's really only a deep league consideration, but certainly don't write him off moving forward.
